Job-related contact can occur with virtually all demographic groups, with the majority of the contacts being service customers, other EcoAir Solutions technicians, the Service Manager, Dispatcher and the Parts Runners. Representative duties include:

  • Serving as a member of ad hoc Service Department teams which are organized to conduct HVACR servicing jobs promptly and efficiently.
  • Performing routine HVACR service activities without direct oversight or on-site assistance.
  • Assisting the Senior Service Technician(s) in the training of other TRS employees on service-related subjects, including call-back prevention and equipment protocols.
  • Conducting point-of-work sales of IAQ services, unit components, unit replacements, add-on units, and residential service contracts.
  • Developing lead referrals for the sales staff.
  • Conducting non-service work in support of the IAQ and Installation Departments, as assigned.
  • Performing related duties as directed by the Service Manager.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate
  • One or more years of successful experience, either as a commercial service or installation technician.
  • Good verbal and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers’ instructions and to clearly communicate with residential and commercial customers, suppliers, and other EcoAir Solutions employees.
  • Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in Buffalo, NY.
  • Interest and initiative in maintaining and advancing his or her HVACR skills through a combination of self-study, company training, manufacturers’ workshops, and other professional development activities.
  • Current GTA operator’s license and the ability to operate all vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of initial employment. Incumbent must be insurable by current EcoAir Solutions insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints.

  • Performing supervised and unsupervised basic HVAC installation support activities (after having been shown all safety-related aspects of the role and the expected standards); e.g. fabricates sheet metal ducts and transitions, installs sheet metal components, hangs registers and grilles, stocks parts, installs refrigeration line sets including soldering and brazing, assists Installation Technicians and Senior Installation Technicians.
  • Performing progressively more difficult technical roles than noted in the preceding paragraph, under the direct supervision of an Installation Technician or Senior Installation Technician; e.g. measures and threads piping, uses basic test equipment, assists in start-up/charge/test/balance, performs home rough-ins, installs residential units (gas, oil, electric furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps).
  • Performing related trainee duties as directed by the Residential Installation Manager.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances and weather extremes found in WNY. Examples include the ability to lift and carry a 100 lb. load (of the size and shape of an item encountered on an HVAC job) a distance of 50′; and safely erect a 32′ extension ladder. Must not have a fear of heights and high places (acrophobia).
